We provide you with all the equipment, advice and back-up you need to arrange your perfect trip. Meet at our Marahau base where you can leave your car in our secure car park.

Park Start
Enjoy the luxury of kayaking one way with the sea breeze. It's like paddling downhill. We've designed a trip for you. After completing our safety briefing you will catch the 12noon water taxi up to your destination of choice (as far North as Onetahuti) and then paddle one way back to Marahau with the seabreeze at your back!
Includes an Abel Tasman Kayaks - Kayak Rentals briefing at Marahau, kayak hire, kayak transfer, passenger transfer.
Safety Briefing & Restrictions
1 Day allow 1 1/2 hrs for the briefing
2+ Days allow 2-3 hrs for the briefing

Highlights and areas of interest in the Abel Tasman National Park
Weather forecasts and local conditions
Hazards, safety and self rescue
On water assessment
Once packed and briefed on land, your instructor will initially accompany your group on the water to cover the last part of the briefing and will ensure you are feeling comfortable and competent before waving you off.
We have a few requirements which you must meet before we can allow you out on your own:
Minimum group size 2 (no solo hires)
Age Limit: 18 years +
Younger participants may be considered provided that all participants in the group are 14+ years and are accompanied by an adult (18+) on a 1:1 ratio
Must demonstrate your ability to kayak before leaving our base

If you have not met our requirements don't worry, our sister companies Abel Tasman Kayaks or Kaiteriteri Kayaks will be delighted to show you around the breathtaking sights of Abel Tasman on one of their exciting guided tours!
We provide:
Buoyancy vest, spray skirt, paddle jacket, paddle, safety emergency flares, water-proof map, water pump and a spare paddle. Additional items in the winter: wetsuits, wetsuit booties.
We also offer rental items if you do not have any of the recommended camping equipment (subject to availability).
